Horizon Foundation ‘Social Innovation’ Scholarship (Now closed)

by leigh last modified 2008-05-26 12:23

Do you have an important message you wish to share with the rest of society? We are looking for young creatives who are passionate about a social issue and want to spread their ideas and increase awareness by reaching out to wider audiences.

Thanks to the generous support of the Horizon Foundation we are offering an additional ‘Social Innovation’ scholarship to a social entrepreneur who wants to take an innovative approach to addressing, highlighting and advocating around issues in their community, drawing people in rather than switching them off.

The scholarship aims to support a young individual or team over the course of 4 months working on a project that draws attention to a social issue and contributes to social change.

Selection criteria:

  • The project has to represent an innovative and creative idea or approach to a
social issue using media as a tool.

  • You can work in a team or as an individual. You must be between 18 &
    30 yrs old

  • The project has to be outcome focused, that is, contribute to social change in one
    way or the other

In your application you have to outline a project plan that allows you to complete
your work within the 4 months of the scholarship based on 2 days/wk
residency at sQuareOne (access Wednesdays to Saturdays).

The sQuareOne team will support you and find a mentor with expertise in the
field that you are working in.

To apply download the application form here.

Applications close Sunday, May 16, 2008.

Program starts in June.
