Overview
Co-run between CuriousWorks and sQuareOne, piXelsQuared is an annual digital media and community development skills training program.
piXelsQuared provides a safe environment for dedicated emerging artists or community workers to receive peer-to-peer training in emerging technologies and community collaboration.
The program provides producers with the skills to kick-start long-term projects that aim to make a sustainable difference to a community.
piXelsQuared runs in three parts comprising of a symposium, workshop program and exhibition.
- The piXelsQuared Symposium
provides an opportunity for artists, media makers, community groups and industry bodies
to discuss ways that digital art practice can work with building sustainable community development.
- Over 6 months, participants will then complete training in visuals, sound, text and interactivity - and network with digital artists and community workers from all across Australia. Participants are partnered with a community organisation to develop a project in close collaboration with a particular community(ies).
- The piXelsQuared exhibition will showcase the final result of the piXelsQuared program and will have an everlasting home on Vibewire.net.
