Residency Packages

sQuareOne offers two types of residencies, full time and part time. There is some flexibility around these packages, depending on the needs of the project. As sQuareOne is a youth-led, youth focused venture, residents must be under age 30.


Full-time Residency

An ideal option for emerging social enterprise, grassroots organisations, young creative businesses or longterm projects.


For example:


A startup  production company, an NGO, charity or social enterprise. Producing a regular monthly zine, establishing a designer collective.

  • 24 hour access, 7 days per week.
  • A dedicated workstation, including computer, desk, chair, shelving & storage
  • Broadband internet
  • Scanning, printing & photocopying [colour & b&w] capabilities.
  • Access to production equipment ie editing & design suites, data projector or video camera
  • Shared telephone line
  • Access to kitchenette, library, communal meeting areas & private meeting room
  • Mailbox
  • Rent includes:
      • $20 of telephone calls
      • $10 worth of printing [100 b&w copies]
      • Internet, utilities & water usage
  • Mailbox

$300 per month [residency]
+ $20 per year [membership]

    Other costs [after subsidies have been exceeded]

20c per page [scans]
10c per page [b&w]

workstations available for laptop users | pricing based on 1-5 users | prices exclude GST


Part-time Residency

A great option for short-term projects, media making or organising events.


For example:

Editing a documentary, organising a film festival, art show, gig or advocacy campaign

  • Access up to 12 hours per week [during opening hours]
  • A workstation, including computer, desk, chair, shelving & storage
  • Broadband internet
  • Scanning, printing & photocopying [colour & b&w] capabilities.
  • Access to production equipment ie editing & design suites, data projector or video camera
  • Shared telephone line
  • Access to kitchenette, library, communal meeting areas & private meeting room.
  • Rent includes:
      • $10 of telephone calls
      • $5 worth of printing [50 b&w copies]
      • Internet, utilities & water usage
  • Mailbox
$100 per month [residency]
+ $20 per year [membership]

Casual User

Perfect for quick jobs or the unexpected drop-in


For example:

A last minute assignment. Or burning a quick run of DVDs , tweaking your design portfolio &  editing your showreel. 

  • The Mac Lab

High end machines
equipped with professional software including Final Cut Studio Pro 2, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite & Flash


  • Office Computers
New machines with broadband internet access & a secure server.

  • Low cost scanning, printing & photocopying [colour & b&w] available

$10 per hour for high end editing machines incl Internet
$5 per hour for basic workstations incl Internet
$15 per hour for the meeting area incl white board and projector
